COVID-19 has had a major impact on all our lives, including on our rugby club, our members, and their families. It has been a rough sea to navigate during an everchanging situation. BC Rugby and by association the Ebb Tide Rugby Football Club has had to shut down all rugby related activities including practices and social events, considering the risk of infection transmission and potential severity of the COVID-19 virus.

Now that we are in August and the risk of infectious transmission remains relatively low, BC Rugby has been working to reintroduce rugby into our club lives again. This endeavor is not being taken lightly. BC Rugby developed a plan in accordance with viaSport’s Return to Sport Guidelines that has been approved by Rugby Canada. Each club must receive sanctioning by BC Rugby to restart playing rugby.

This return to rugby will be a multi-phase plan. It will be some time before we both return to practices and the inter league games that we are used to. We will be starting slow with attention to safety and reducing the risk of spreading the virus between players, and by extension to their family, friends, and work colleagues. More details about BC Rugby Return to Rugby plan can be found at http://www.bcrugby.com/returntorugby/. We will as a club provide more details going forward.

Currently, the club wants to know how you feel about Return to Rugby for the Ebb Tide Rugby Club. The purpose of the following survey will help accomplish that. The final goal is to help us develop our plans and how we communicate to our members.

Please answer honestly and we understand there might be varying answers.
